Kevin was born in 1968 and grew up in Lincoln County. He graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1986 and went on to graduate from Gupton-Jones School of Mortuary Science, Atlanta in 1987. He is the son of Ellie Norman Beggs and the late Carlton Beggs. Upon the resignation of Coroner Paul Reviere, Kevin was appointed coroner of Lincoln County on July 10, 2017 after serving as Deputy Coroner for 25 years. He is a member of the Georgia’s Coroners Association. Kevin is also a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer and has managed the original Beggs Funeral Home, May Ave., Lincolnton since the death of his father in 1992. The thoughtfulness and compassion he has for families make him an asset to the coroner’s office. Kevin is married to the former Kimberly Goldman of Lincolnton and they have five children; Bentley(21), Blake(19), Branson(13), Kate(9), and Bowen (6).

The Coroners role is to determine the manners and causes of death, often by performing autopsies. During autopsies, coroners inspect the body of a deceased person to identify marks or other empirical evidence that indicates how he or she died.
