The Lincoln County Department of Technology & Media Services is organized in support of the County Departments and agencies. To provide support for telecommunication, program maintenance, systems development, production support and office systems services to Lincoln County departments and agencies. To provide the stable, responsive computer systems the departments and agencies require to accomplish their missions. To analyze and interpret the progress and direction of the computer industry for the county departments. To strive to keep current in technology and to provide County-wide data processing and telecommunications direction in an effective, secure and cost efficient manner. We provide the county with a wide-range of technical and business skills.

In addition to providing computer and network related services and support we also provide video services for our local governmental departments. These services include recording regulary scheduled Board of Commissioners meetings and select Special Events. We will be expanding our coverage to include documentaries, local historical information, and interviews with prominent local members of our community.

Currently we record most of our video footage digitally. The live video feed is sent to a workstation via a firewire (IEE 1394) connection where it is recorded and changed to the correct video format for either local playback or broadcast. Using a direct digital connection eliminates the lengthy process of recording to tape and then re-recording to a workstation for editing. Once we have our footage on a workstation we can then prepare it for producing a hard copy such as DVD. Some of these DVD's are available for checkout at the Lincoln County Library. If the video event will be broadcast over local cable channels then we can copy the digital content to a portable hard drive. We transfer the footage from the hard drive to a broadcast workstation and then schedule the event for playback.
