911 / Communications

The Lincoln County Department of Public Safety Communications Center was established in by Lincoln County to serve the needs of the community. The center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides Emergency 911 access to the citizens and visitors to Lincoln County. The center serves as central dispatch for all public safety units within Lincoln County. When a citizen or visitor to our county calls 9-1-1 for assistance the call is handled within the center and not transferred to another office for dispatching of units.
In 2007, a plan to upgrade and enhance the current system began to develop . The upgrade will renovate and replace equipment in the communications center (com-center), not field equipment (base station radios, repeaters, receivers, etc.).  There are many added capabilities that will go along with this upgrade, although to the untrained eye, it may appear over the top or extreme.  Fortunately, the 9-1-1 center upgrade will be complete first quarter of 2012 offering the best emergency communications possible to Lincoln County.  E-911 is the lifeline of the emergency responders in the field and callers requesting service - we are  here for you!
