A panel of public and private child service providers team up to assess the underlying causes of deprivation, delinquency and/or unruliness and recommend treatment alternatives to the Juvenile Court. Each county will have their own panel consisting of the FAST START Coordinator, the School System, the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Public Defender's Office, a Child Advocate Attorney, Private Providers, Citizen Volunteers, Law Enforcement, the District Attorney's Office, D.F.C.S., Mental Health, and Family Connection.. The benefits of the panel are confidentiality protection for participating agencies, expanded communication between child service agencies and coordination of services among participating agencies. Regular meetings will be held in each county once a month and at other times as needed.
