The County Attorney's primary responsibility is to advise the Board of Commissioners and other County Officers on their powers and duties under Georgia Law.

The County Attorney also prepares ordinances and other legal documents, reviews proposed contracts, and represents the County in all court proceedings.

Finally, under Georgia law, the County Attorney is also responsible for providing legal representation to all of the County Elected Officials, unless a conflict of interest is determined to exist.
