Larry Collins was elected to the Board of Commissioners in 1996 to represent District 2. He is the son of Mildred Drinkard Collins of Cotter, Arkansas and the late Sneed N. Collins.
Commissioner Collins married Emmye Ward of Lincolnton in 1977 and moved her to Arkansas. In 1979 they returned to make Lincoln County their home, fulfilling Commissioner Collins' childhood dream of living in his mother's home town. Larry and Emmye have nine children and twelve grandchildren.
Commissioner Collins hs been employed in the textile industry for the past 24 years as a Human Resources Director. He has served as president of the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of COmmerce, Secretary-Treasurer of the Lions Club, Library Board Member, and a founder of the Lincoln County Concerned Citizens Organization.
His hobbies are camping, backpacking, and hunting sharks teeth on Edisto Island.
