James Darrell Henderson, a life-long resident of Lincoln County, was elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2006 to represent District 1. He is the sone of the late James and Alice Albea Henderson.

Commissioner Henderson graduated Lincoln County High School in 1961. He attended Abraham-Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia. He is married to Tommie Borders of Elbert County, and they have four children: Brian, Lee, Andrew, and Matthew. As a 3rd generation logger, Commissioner Henderson is the President of Henderson Logging Co, Inc. since 1977.

Commissioner Henderson is a member of Midway United Methodist Church, where he serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He is also a member of the Southeastern Wood Producers Association, where he serves on the Board of Directors.
